Flammin' Hot Cheetos.........

I am sure that all of us have been addicted at some point to the Flammin’ Hot Cheetos. I know I was when I was in Elementary school but I got over them after realizing that it was giving me a stomached and that it is not good for your health. Now in days I do not eat them.

Well, their are these four little girls that range from three to seven years old who are my neighbor’s daughter, everyday when I get home from school or work I see them each with a bag of Flammin’ Hot Cheetos. (Reminds me of me when I was small) I mean literally everyday, I do not know what are their parents thinking by allowing them to eat this or if they are blind or they just do not care as long as their daughters are not bugging them. But it is not only kids who eat this Hot Cheetos like crazy; I have this co-worker who is always eating this cheetos after finishing her meal for lunch. I even have this friend who has a one in a half year old son who I have seen eating Flammin’ Hot Cheetos with out hesitating. Can you believe this? I was shock when I saw him the first time eating them. So why do you think many kids as well as adults crave Flammin’ Hot Cheetos? It seems as if they have some sort of ingredient to make you addicted to them.

They eat them as if it is the last thing they will eat in their life. I have seen kids as well as adults add to their Flammin Hot Cheetos certain foods to add a better taste. I have seen them eat the Flammin’ Hot Cheetos with lemon or in Cup noodles or even in hot dogs. I guess that the Flammin’ Hot Cheetos are not spicy enough or some just like it even more spicy that they add a Mexican hot sauce called Tapatio or pure chilly powder or Baby Lucas or even Chamoy. Just image the stomached they must get after eating this Flammin’ Hot Cheetos or is it that their stomach have gotten use to it. There is even ice cream truck’s and candy houses that sell chili cheese Hot Cheetos with jalapenos if desired.

Even though the kids and adults get a runny nose after eating them for a while due to their spiciness they still continue to eat them. Most of them eat them one at a time and like to hear that crunchy sound of each and even lick the chilly powder off each but they save the red spicy powder left from all the Hot Cheetos on their fingers to last. After licking their fingers and enjoying that satisfying taste, they clean their hands on anything they have on their sight such as their cloth or chairs. Maybe what brings the kids attractions is that red colored left on their mouth and tongue as well as their fingers. On the other hand to the adults I think the attractions has to due with the spicy flavored. Whether it is the red colored left on your body or that spicy taste that makes your ears tingle or the crunchiness, it can be really addicttive to crave Flammin' Hot Cheetos from toddlers all they way to adults.

Tapatio!!!!!

Who has not tried the hot sauce, Tapatio? I am sure you have seen it in many places from mini markets, restaurants, and big markets and even in the 99¢ store. I, as Mexican American have loved to eat spicy plates ever since I was small. As far as I can remember, Tapatio hot sauce has always been in our shopping cart when doing our grocery shopping whether we purchased the 5oz or 10 oz bottle or even the 32 oz bottle which last longer. They even have a 7-gram individual packet that came out in 2006 for fast food restaurants to offer their customers as an individual serving size specially made for take out meals. The bottle itself is really cheap you can purchase it for as less as $1.49 and it also has no expiration date but it is recommended to use within two years of purchased. The Tapatio hot sauce can be used in a variety of ways ranging from snacks, appetizers, seafood, main dishes to as well as beverages. We pour it on chips, popcorn, cup noodles and even nachos to give it a spicy taste. We Mexicans even pour it on a Mexican fruit salad we call “Pico De Gallo”, which contains peeled orange, cucumbers, and jicama and also put lemon, salt and of course Tapatio. We even pour it on seafood dishes such as Shrimp Cocktail, and Tuna and even Ceviche. Some main dishes it can be pour on are Burritos, Quesadillas and Eggs cooked in any way. I have friends who even use the Tapatio hot sauce in American dishes such as hamburgers, and hot dogs and even pizza. Is it interesting that we even use this Mexican hot sauce on American dishes to give it a better taste and to make it spicy? This hot sauce is even use on alcohol beverages, that is amazing. It is use on an alcohol beverage called Bloody Mary which is made with vodka, I personally have not try it but some of my friends have told me that it is good. The alcohol beverage that I have tried is a Mexican beverage called “Michelada”, for those who have not tried it, you can find it in a Mexican Restaurants and it’s made of salt, pure chilly powder, lime and a chilled beer (preferably Mexican beer & dark). It taste ok but a lot of people drink it when they have a hang over and it calms it down.

Yeah, this sauce can be use on different dishes from snacks to beverages and it taste really good but what it really is doing is replacing our home made hot sauce. Instead of us preparing our own home made hot sauce, we are being in some way lazy and going out to the stores and buying this hot sauce which in some way seems to be easier for us. When it actually it takes about the same time in preparing it as well as going to the store to buy the hot sauce. Most of the time the food that is cook at home is actually much better than the one purchase at stores or restaurants. I think we would spend about the same amount of money in preparing the hot sauce at home as well as going out to purchase the hot sauce at a store.

This hot sauce is really good and it can be used not only on Mexican dishes but also on American dishes as well as alcohol beverages. And it is really cheap and it can be found almost in any store, but maybe we should just stop being a bit lazy and should prepare more things at home, which are more fresh and have a better taste.
